Artists in Action sponsors and participates in a number of cultural events in the greater Salem area.
| Monthly Meetings Meetings are held on the 4th Thursday of each month from January to October. Speakers, topics of interest and new opportunities for artists are featured. Click here for more information. Paint the Town! This annual summer event gives area artists the opportunity to come out of their studios and paint or draw on location at selected spots in and around Salem. Following the on-site painting event, there is a group showing and awards reception. Click here for more information. Historic Deepwood Estates Celebrates the Gardens Artists in Action members join the garden party celebration, displaying their garden-themed art and demonstrate plein air painting during this event which celebrates the arrival of summer. The gardens are fragrant with flowers and music fill the air. 15% of art sales go toward supporting the Deepwood Volunteer gardens. Click here for Calendar of Events page Lavender Festival, Havenhill Farms Artists in Action members will paint on site during this annual festival located between Silverton and Stayton, the beautiful vista and fragrant blooming lavendar greets visitors strolling the grounds. Antiques, art, fresh lavendar and lavendar products are available for purchase. Click here for Calendar of Events page Art on the Green at the World Beat Festival Artists in Action members bring “Art on the Green”, a display of their fine art at a booth in the European circle of Salem’s World Beat Festival. This annual, multi-cultural event is held at Riverfront Park. Click here for Calendar of Events page Salem Art Fair & Festival Artists in Action booth, July 16-18, "Paint Outside the Box" (create/design a box or set of boxes for raffle) and/or volunteer to help with the booth. "Celebrate December - Something Red” "Celebrate December - Something Red” is a juried fine arts event sponsored by Artists in Action and Salem Downtown Association. In 2004, 14 downtown Salem business locations exhibited artwork for the month of December, with an Artwalk, Exhibits and Reception. All works are original and for sale. Over 40 artists were represented from all over Oregon. Salem Downtown Display Members have opportunities to exhibit their works in Salem’s downtown, for one-time events, such as Salem’s First Wednesday, recurring events, and extended exhibits.
